Heartbreak in Winder: Community Mourns Loss of Two Students and Two Teachers in Apalachee High School Shooting

Last week, the community of Winder, Georgia, was devastated by a tragic school shooting at Apalachee High School that claimed the lives of four beloved individuals: two students and two teachers. The loss has left the town in a state of grief, struggling to comprehend the senseless act that unfolded within the school’s halls.

The victims have been identified as Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14-year-old students who were known for their kindness and love of learning. Richard Aspinwall, a math teacher and assistant football coach, was admired for his commitment to his students both in the classroom and on the field. Christina Irimie, another math teacher, was cherished for her compassion and unwavering support for her students.

The Apalachee High School community, along with the families of Mason, Christian, Richard, and Christina, are left with broken hearts, mourning the unimaginable loss of those taken far too soon.
